"I need a pick up for my mum" ......
We took in part exchange a Mazda B2500 which was too high miles for us to put it on the website, so we advertised it on social media, it had 198,876 miles !! We had a call from a gentleman call Tendai who wanted to come and see it. Tendai arrived and we explained it was high mileage etc but was still a good truck... "I need a truck for my Mum and this will suit her perfectly". I asked where Mum is, thinking she may want to pop over and see it, ....Zimbabwe !! So a few Facetime calls later and Mum bought her new truck ! I asked how it was getting it there to which the reply was they were driving it! So, a week later it started it's journey being driven from Camberley, Surrey UK to Port of Sheerness in Kent it was then put on a cargo ship to Port of Walvis Bay, Namibia. From Walvis bay Nambia it was driven to Plumtree on the Zimbabwean border, passed through the border control and then entered Botswana ....across Botswana and finally into Zimbabwe ( more border control) It's roughly 4,500 kilometres to the Zimbabwe capitol Harare. From there another 100 kilometres to Chegutu to finally greet Maureen and Tandais' Grandad ! It's now their daily transport and you can see it's put to hard work ..Ground nuts, Maize cattle farming and chickens ! 198,000 miles and still working, this is why we love Ford Rangers !
